ABOUT SODAL

Sodal started in a real place, not from a feature list.

It began with the day-to-day work of one independent fitness studio, and with a belief that turned out to hold anywhere people keep coming back: you should not have to become a tech company to give your people something worth putting your name on.

WHERE SODAL STARTED

One real business, not a hundred hypothetical ones.

M-Fit is a boutique fitness studio in Woodbury, Connecticut, built around small-group strength training and the kind of front-desk relationships that make people want to come back. Its actual schedule, policies and member experience were the starting point. Building against one real business meant answering the awkward, specific questions instead of the ones that look good on a feature list.

  • What happens when a session fills and someone joins the waitlist?
  • Does an on-time cancellation return the credit correctly?
  • Can someone sign the current form before they book?
  • Will the owner notice when a regular quietly stops turning up?

Those questions turned out not to be about fitness at all. A music school asks the same things about a lesson, a club asks them about a court, an after-school program asks them about a child and a guardian. Read the M-Fit founding story

WHO IS BEHIND SODAL

You can find out who is accountable in one click.

Sodal is a small, hands-on operation. The person who sets your app up and keeps it running with you is the same person who built the service in the first place, which is either reassuring or disqualifying depending on what you are looking for.

Sean RobertsFounder, Sodal · SKM.digital

Sodal is built and run by Sean Roberts through SKM.digital, the web design and development studio behind it. It did not start as a product idea. It started with M-Fit, a real fitness studio, and the unglamorous parts of its week: full classes, quiet cancellations, forms nobody had signed, and the regulars whose attendance was slipping before anyone noticed. Sodal was built around those specifics first, then made repeatable for everyone else.

So the person who designs it is the person who sets it up and stays accountable for running it with you. It also means the comparisons on this site carry a name and a published methodology. If a number here is wrong, there is someone to email about it.

DATA, PAYMENTS, AND WHAT WE WILL NOT DO

The questions you should be asking any vendor.

Where does my data actually live, who touches my money, and what is an AI allowed to say to my people without me? Owners are right to ask. Here are our answers, including the parts that are just terms rather than promises.

Where your people’s data lives

It lives in infrastructure we manage, so that we can host your app, keep it running and support it. What we do not do is sell it, share it, or use your records to train anything outside your organization. The relationship you have with your people is not a product we resell.

Payments run through your own account

You connect your own payments account, in your name. Money moves directly from your people to you. The standard card fees everyone pays still apply, and we add 0% on top. We never sit between you and what you earn.

Month to month, on purpose

There is no long contract and no cancellation maze. You decide again every month whether this is worth it, which means we have to keep being worth it. We would rather earn the next month than make the exit painful.

A real person on your account

One named person sets it up, keeps it running with you, and answers you directly. Not a ticket queue, and not a chatbot pretending to be support. That person is accountable for your app staying live and working.

ABOUT THE AI OUTREACH

The AI drafts. A person decides.

Sodal notices when someone’s rhythm changes and drafts a message in your voice. It never sends anything to your people on its own. You or someone on your team reads every draft and decides whether it is true, whether it sounds like you, and whether to send it at all. Sodal is good at spotting the pattern. The part that matters is still yours.

Talk to the person who would actually do the work.

You will not get a sales rep and you will not be handed to anyone afterwards. Book a short call, bring however you run things today, and we will talk about what it would take to move it.
